Folks/Machangs
One of the most hard and critical aspects in a community project is the
human aspect. It requires a charismatic figure ( Linux) or an ideal
membership. In cases when members are not ideal ( ex: human ), frictions and
diversions materializes.
If this is ignored, or dealt with in the wrong manner, there is a big
probability of project failure or you run the risk of a split. While we as
the community needs the best for the project in your own view, we do not
need the project to DIE.
So its a choice of having "MY" way vs killing the project, one should
rationalize based on the grater good. Who should do this, the member or the
leader, is the gray area. But my view is in community project, team takes
preference over self.
Also bear in mind there is no universal correct way to do it.. only an
accepted way..
Also in software we have the wonderful thing called versions, paches and
revisions...so nice to have these and refreshing to use..
;)
Its a general observation..for light reading and amusement only.
