I do not and did not intend to make anyone leave the community project. I
would welcome all to be involved, BUT only work with accountability,
maturity and discipline. If Danishka or anyone else has been personally hurt
by what i said that was not my intention. I only sought to shed light on
what was done by the individual concerned. What was done was not right.
I do not think or in any way maintain that ICTA made or wanted this to
happen. I myself am working on a project with ICTA which I am proud to be
doing and am sure it will bring tremendous value to the country.
I would think that an organisation such as ICTA has professionals who act
with professionalism and integrity. It is ICTA's choice to work with whom
they will, but if such a person carries out such a task that in the founders
own words, never been done in all his years of localisation, that person
should be held accountable for his actions.
Therefore, if Danishka or anyone else wants to leave, they are free to do
so. If they want to join the project, they are still welcome!
I am not kicking anyone out and indeed I myself, together with the OOO
founders, Charles Schulz and Louis Suarez Potts want as many to be involved
as possible, as we all feel that as much as the end result, ie the Sinhala
version of OOO is necessary and important, the means, or journey, or process
of getting there in the right spirit and right principles is equally
important.
Therefore if anyone acts contrary to these principles and the spirit of
FOSS, even if it improves the project, will not do the project or those
involved, any good in the long run.
We MUST accomplish what we set out to do without compromising on these
principles!
These include to act fairly, act with discipline, work together, cooperate,
submit to authority and initiators, be mature, be accountable,
Rather than having personality conflicts, lets work together to get the job
done, without stepping on each other along the way.
