I've been working on adding Sinhala support to GNU/Linux since 20= 03 and
predominately by myself for most of that time. What I noticed is that
people rarely have the free time for regular contributions.

Back in May 2008 I requested help to maintain sinhala.sf.net Ubuntu and
Debian packages:

I delegated the task to Dushara and Anuradha R. because of their
previous contributions to the Sinhala GNU/Linux effort. Unfortunately,
both have had limited free time. I am finding myself in the same
situation. And the best solution is to get all patches upstream and to
not maintain our own patched packages.

There are two main tasks:

1) i18n - internationalization - enabling Sinhala support
2) l10n - localization - translating the UI to Sinhala

The first task, i18n, is in maintenance mode. If someone finds a
technical problem or bug when using Sinhala on GNU/Linux please report
it to sinhala-te= chnical@lists.sourceforge.net or linux@= lug.lk.

The second task, l10n, requires more contributors. Danishka has been
translating the UI single handedly for some time now. If you want to
help with the translating, send an email to
Sinhala-Unicode@googleg= roups.com or sinhala@linux.lk.<= br>
Translating the UI to Sinhala should be our focus now!
